There are indian channels free of cost to be received in Germany, provided you are in a position to install an extra large dish and tune it at the atypical direction of 83 degrees towards the eastern horizon. Given below is the site where you can see the details/list of the channels available:
Just click on beam/zone and you can see the footpath of the transponder signal. All the mentioned channels have ranges over Germany, even though the signal strength will be too low - necessitating the need for the above said big dishes.
Channel free of cost:
In case of channels where under "video encryption" "PAL" is given, the signal is in analogue format - you can receive them with an analogue satellite receiver. For those where "MPEG2" is given, you will need a digital satellite tuner and a digital compatible LNB in the middle of the dish. In this case one might get perfect pictures/ton if the dish is properly positioned. You may notice that there is no single receiver available which can handle digital MPEG signals as well as analogue PAL signals. Thus you may have to choose for one of the system - I prefer the digital system.
